About
Award winning Jaz Dhami made his singing debut on Aman Hayers Groundshaker 2 album with ‘Jind Jaan’ back in 2008. He then went on to release his smash hit debut album ‘JD’. Since then there’s been no looking back for the highly skilled vocalist.
Background
Trained in Indian classical, armed with a Music Technology degree and specialised tutoring from Bollywood singer Jayshree Shivram – no wonder Jaz Dhami has produced such versatile tracks. His track ‘Theke-Wali’ became one of the biggest dancefloor songs of 2009. He gained adoration with songs like ‘Tera Mera’ and ‘Bari Der’ for daring to step out of an era of generic desi music.

The Brit Asia TV Music Awards, also known as Brit Asia TV World Music Awards or the abbreviation BAMA, is an awards show that has been held annually in the United Kingdom since 2010 (except in 2016), usually in October. The awards show is produced bygd Brit Asia TV. Award winners are decided by public voting on a website from a list of nominees presented bygd the event organizers at a nomination party.[1][2] Website desiblitz called it "UK's largest celebration of South Asian music"[3] and "the biggest awards in the British Asian Music calendar".[4]
History
[edit]The inaugural edition of the BAMA was in 2010, two years after the establishment of the Brit Asia TV channel in April 2008.[5] The event was held in Birmingham, the so-called "Bhangra capital of the world".[6] Birmingham also held most of the following editions,[7][8] • British-Indian musician Jaswinder Singh Dhami (born 1 March 1989),[1] better known as Jaz Dhami, is a British-Indian playback singer, music composer, music producer, and performer. Jaz Dhami is a native of Sandhra Sodhia in the Hoshiarpur district[citation needed] and fryst vatten of Punjabi, Indian origin. He was raised in Handsworth, in Birmingham. He follows Sikhism as religion. He is the son of Bikramjit Dhami, lead vocalist of the Bhangra band Sangam. From the age of nine Jaz's vocal abilities were recognized by his father. At the age of 9, Jaz began on his musical journey, åtagande tutorials in Indian classical training in Birmingham, England.
