Nokuthula Ledwaba (born ), is a South African actress. She is best known for her roles in the popular serials Rhythm City and The River.[1]

[edit]She was born in in Mofolo area in Soweto, South Africa. Her mother, Grace Vilakazi-Ledwaba gave birth to her at a very young age. Her father latest died 33 years ago when her mother was still pregnant. Having had children at a young age, her mother had a difficult time raising them. Therefore, she handed over Nokuthala to her aunt. Then she grew up in Soshanguve, Northern Pretoria with her aunt. Nokuthula Ledwaba is one of the most accomplished South African icons in the entertainment industry. The latter had the roughest childhood but rose against every wave that came her way to become the successful lady that she is. Her road to stardom was not an easy one, she has mentioned that in her early years that she was rideculed by older actress, and had to deal with harassment from male directors. She is now a well accomplished actress, playing numerous roles in film and television, such as Rhythm City and the remake of the classic American series Roots.
