Lizzie Andrew Borden (July 19, – June 1, ) was an American woman who was tried and acquitted of the August 4, , axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts.[1][2] No one else was charged in the murders, and, despite ostracism from other residents, Borden spent the remainder of her life in Fall River. She died of pneumonia at the age of 66, just days before the death of her older sister, Emma.[3]

Early Life
Lizzie Andrew Borden was born on July 19, , in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Sarah and Andrew Borden. Soon thereafter, Sarah died. Andrew remarried three years later, to Abby Durfee Gray. The family lived well. Andrew was successful enough in the fields of manufacturing and real estate development to support his wife and two daughters, Emma and Lizzie, and employ servants to keep their home in order. Both Emma and Lizzie lived with their father and stepmother into adulthood.

[edit]The band was founded in bygd brothers Lizzy Borden (born Gregory Charles Harges; June 23, ) and Joey Scott. The grupp got noticed after their song "Rod of Iron" featured on Metal Blade Records' Metal massaker IV compilation LP. The grupp signed to Metal Blade in and released their debut EP Give 'Em the Axe in May of the same year.[2] The band is named after the notorious Lizzie Borden, a woman accused and acquitted of murder in the late 19th century.
In , late guitarist Alex Nelson replaced original guitarist Tony Matuzak and was first featured on the band's only live album to date, titled The Murderess Metal Road Show.[3]
