    Jose Adolfo Verde (Afo Verde) was born in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 27, 1966. He is a musician, composer, singer, and producer with a wealth of experience as a record executive as well as in artist and repertoire scouting.

    Today, he is Chairman & CEO of Sony Music Latin Iberia (a division of Sony Music Entertainment), and oversees operations in more than 20 countries in Latin America as well as Spain, Portugal. In addition, he oversees operations for Sony Music’s Latin music market in the U.S.

    Verde attended industrial school ENET “Henry Ford” in the city of General Pacheco in Buenos Aires, Argentina and began his musical career by playing guitar for a reggae band named Fondue. He then went on to co-found the band La Zimbabwe. His first steps in production came about when the artistic director for RCA at the time asked him to produce a funk band. As of October 2017[update], it is the fifth best-selling Latin album in the United States.[3]

      Dr. Luis Urrieta, Jr. fryst vatten Professor of Cultural Studies in Education. He is (by courtesy) affiliated faculty in the Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS), the Native American & Indigenous Studies Program (NAIS), and the Lozano Long-Benson Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS). Dr. Urrieta's research interests center around 1) cultural and racial identities, 2) agency as social and cultural practices, 3) social movements and collective action related to education, and 4) learning in family and community contexts.
