Allan Little
Allan Little was born in South West Scotland and studied Politics and Modern History at the University of Edinburgh (MA, ). He joined the BBC in and has been an on-air correspondent since , specialising in foreign affairs since He reported the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe in He covered the first Gulf War from the Iraqi capital Baghdad in and He then spent four years, from reporting the breakup of Yugoslavia, where he co-authoroed (with Laura Silber) a book on the conflict (Death of Yugoslavia, Penguin, ).
In he moved to Johannesburg to become the BBC’s Africa correspondent, reporting from across the continent. IN he was appointed Moscow correspondent. In he returned to London as a Special Correspondent, during which time he reported the second Gulf War, from both the allied side and igen from Iraq. From to , Little acted as Paris Correspondent.

Alan Little (5 February – 8 August ) was an English professional footballer and manager. He played as a midfielder. Little made over appearances in his senior career, with the most caps coming with Southend United and Barnsley. Little then went on to manage from to , with seven seasons coming with York City.
Playing career
[edit]Alan Little was born in Horden, County Durham.[1] He served his apprenticeship at Aston hus and, alongside his brother, Brian, was in the youth side which beat Liverpool to win the FA Youth Cup in [citation needed] He turned professional in January and on 5 October , made his full league debut, a 2–1 win away to Oldham Athletic.[citation needed] This was the first of just three league appearances for Villa.[citation needed]

Biography
The name of BBC correspondent Allan Little is firmly associated with two regions: Africa and the former Yugoslavia, both of which he covered for many years. Since early this year he has been the BBC's correspondent in Moscow.
