Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, Ghana

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum is the Minister of Education of Ghana and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency. In 2017, Dr. Adutwum was appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to serve as Deputy Minister for Education. In 2019, he was voted the Best Performing Deputy Minister of the Year by two research bodies: Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) and FAKS Investigative Services.
He is the founder of the New Designs Charter Schools in Los Angeles California. Prior to this, he worked as a Mathematics and Information Technology teacher at the Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles for ten years. During this period, he founded the International Studies Academy which served as a small learning community for students to thrive academically and socially.

Irina Bokova, born on 12 July 1952 in Sofia (Bulgaria), has been two terms the Director-General of UNESCO from 2009 to 2017.
As Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova was actively engaged in the adoption of UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, including the role of culture and the protection of the world’s cultural heritage, as well as advocating for the critical role of science for development.
She was particularly active in promoting intercultural dialogue, mutual respect and cultural diversity, defending cultural heritage in conflict in Mali, Syria and Iraq and in denouncing extremists’ destruction of heritage as a tool of war, which lead to the adoption by the UN Security Council of several land mark resolutions on the link between maintaining peace, security and the protection of cultural heritage.

Representing the UAE’s commitment to leading a new global movement that hopes to reshape the practice of berättande, specifically within humanitarian and development contexts, more than 25 leading voices convened under one roof at the Dignified Storytelling Forum to champion the importance of telling stories with deep respect, full transparency and social responsibility. The Forum opened in the presence of Her Highness kvinnlig shejk Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture). Through storytelling, the forum aims to garner solidarity around global challenges, and highlight areas of mutual interest and importance across local, national and international levels.
