    Bengaluru techie suicide: Estranged wife Nikita Singhania claims Atul Subhash 'harassed' her

    BENGALURU: Nikita Singhania, the estranged wife of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who allegedly died by suicide, has denied the allegations of harassment, asserting that it was actually she who had been harassed by her husband.
    During questioning, Nikita claimed she didn’t harass her husband; instead, she was harassed by him. She claimed she was staying away from him for almost three years. If she harassed him for money, why would she stay away from him, she was quoted as saying.
    Nikita was arrested in Gurugram, Haryana, while her mother Nisha and brother Anurag were picked up from Prayagraj. All were sent to day judicial custody.



    Atul Subhash, 34, died by sucide, leaving behind a video and a page death note. He cited domestic issues, including eight false police complaints and a biased family court judge, as reasons for his despair.

    The Indian#MeToo movement began in late (and continues to the present day) to manifest in areas of the Indian society including the government, the media, and the Bollywood film industry. In India, the Me Too movement is seen as either an independent outgrowth influenced by the international campaign against sexual harassment of women in the workplace, or an offshoot of the American "Me Too" social movement.[1] Me Too began gaining prominence in India with the increasing popularity of the international movement, and later gathered sharp momentum in October in the entertainment industry of Bollywood, centered in Mumbai, when actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment.[2] This led to many women in the news media, Indian films, and even within the gove
